BEHIND THE LENS

   

     I'm Briana Sol Castanon, I will be graduating from Hebron High School June 6th which is just around the corner. Coming to the end of high school makes me look back through the past twelve years reminding me how I first became intrested with journalism.

     I was first exposed to news in elementry school, every morning 2 fifth graders got to sit next to the principle and help with annoucemnets for the day. This lead to my exctiment for the news broadcast in middle school where being an anchor slowly became more realistic.

     Freshman year I took journalism 1 where I got exposed to yearbook, newspaper and broadcast. I loved taking photos and won a national award for first year phtography. As a basketball player I enjoyed all sports photgraphy along with capturing reactions and freezing moments in time. I got to shoot for yearbook and write short stories for the sports section in the newspaper. Being a part of the transtion from paper to online had my heart set to a new direction which was taking AV Production at the career center.

    AV Production opened my eyes to a whole different part of journalism and broadcast. With Graduation day approaching I hold on to the dream of my fifth grade self of being a news anchor and ready to face the challanges ahead.
